About LCOY

The Conference of Youth (COY) is a Conference of Parties (COP) but conducted only by young individuals, in order to reflect the viewpoints of young people. Just as COP is held annually, COY is also held annually near the venues of YOUNGO.

During the COP21 2015 in Paris, it was decided that COY will be held as LCOY (Local COY) all around the world, and it was also held in Japan as COY11 Tokyo. Since then, it has become possible to hold LCOY freely in each city if it meets the criteria set by YOUNGO. This year will be the second LCOY held in Japan since the Paris Agreement began its operation. With the aim of promoting Japan's climate change measures from the bottom up, we plan to focus on issues at both national and regional levels by having venues in regions throughout Japan.
